Meet Mrs. ReillyJenny Reilly-- ext. 106
email: jenny.reilly@oldham.kyschools.us Welcome to 3rd grade!!
I am very excited to build a relationship with you and your family. It's going to be a wonderful 2019-2020 school year! I ventured to Louisville from Michigan about 15 years ago after being recruited to play golf at the University of Louisville. I received my Master's in Education from Bellarmine University and I absolutely love teaching. My husband is also a teacher and teaches 6th and 7th graders at Holy Spirit. Our daughter Caroline turned one this past May and we have enjoyed the summer watching her learn and grow! I enjoy playing golf, walking and running with our dog Lacey (whom I adore), watching sports (Go Cards!), and being outside as much as possible. My goal is to create a positive and respectful classroom environment where each student is actively engaged in learning. I look forward to a great 2019-2020 school year with you and your child! Welcome to Mrs. Reilly's class!
class informationReminders:
STUDENT OF THE WEEK Monday: (1) Share your character traits paper. There is an example picture below. You are welcome to be more creative or make one like the picture. To help you think of character traits, there is also a PDF document below. There are of course many other traits that are not on this paper. We will display this in the classroom for the week. (2) You will also be given your Flat Stanley. You color and cut him out. Take pictures of him with you throughout the week. Share your adventures with him on Friday. To share you can print the pictures out and create a collage. Or you can email them to Mrs. Reilly to show on the computer. character_traits_handouts__1_.pdf Tuesday: Mrs. Reilly will give you our class Spotlight binder. You will get to take it home tonight to look through with your family. Please make sure to return it by Thursday. Wednesday: Find a poem that you enjoy. It can be a poem from a book, the Internet, or one that you wrote yourself. Practice reading it at home several times beforehand. Bring it in on this day to share with the class. Thursday: Today is an item of your choice (no food or pets). You may choose something special to you to share. It needs to be able to fit in your backpack so it can safely go to and from school. If you prefer, you could also do a brief lesson (less than five minutes) for the class. For example, you could teach them how to make a figure out of origami or some other special talent you want to share. Friday: Share your adventures with Flat Stanley from the week. To share you can print the pictures out and/or create a collage. Or you can email them to Mrs. Reilly to show on the computer. Wish List The following will be greatly appreciated in our classroom.
